Meet the Division H Team: Tonia, Bruce, Monica & Alton

Vision: To inspire all Toastmasters of Division H to attain their educational and leadership goals for 2017-2018, through mentoring, recognition and training. Division H will be a distinguished division.

Mission: To ensure every club knows how to create and implement a club success plan. Members will create clearly outlined and goals to earn their communication (CC, ACB, ACS, ACG) and leadership goals (CL, ALB, ALS, DTM). 

Objective 1: We will achieve success by providing the training for VPEs to track member goals using a “VPE notebook” for members who may not have their manuals at club meetings.

Objective 2: We will expand mentoring opportunities both (member to member within clubs) and (member to member from other clubs) within the Division.

Objective 3: We will maintain a base 20 members for each club.

Objective 4: We will add four new clubs to the Division.

Tonia Robinson-Lloyd, DTM (Division H Director)
Tonia Robinson-Lloyd, DTM, holds her Masters in Clinical Psychology. She is currently preparing for her licensing exams a Clinical Drug & Alcohol Counselor. She is a professor of Psychology, Theories of Personality, Drugs & Alcohol in American Society and College Success Seminar at Essex County College. She is a published author, her book series “Staying Well: A 3 day workshop guide” can be found on Amazon. She is happily married to her husband, fellow Toastmaster Sean Lloyd, CC, CL. Apart from Toastmasters, the couple believes in serving their communities through education and counseling. Their company Lloyd Robinson LLC was formed to provide planning and consulting services to educational institutions.
 
Tonia joined Toastmasters in 2009 and has served as VPM, Secretary, President, Club Sponsor, Club Mentor, Area 81 Director and was elected to the position of Division H Director, at our Spring 2016 Conference. As a Toastmaster, Tonia is known for her resourcefulness, resolve and determination to get results. All four of Area 81 clubs, including newly chartered Toastmasters at NJIT, is distinguished. Tonia thanks her mentors: Mark Grebenau, DTM; Avril Lecky, DTM; and Tom Jenkins, ACG, ALS for helping her achieve her educational and leadership goals in Toastmasters. Her goal for Division H is to ensure it is a distinguished Division.

Area 82- Bruce For, ACB, ALB

Bruce For is the founder and principle of Digital 360NJ, a marketing, technology & management firm that provides an array of fully integrated technical and digital marketing services & solutions tailored for local businesses seeking to leverage their products and service offerings effectively across the Internet. As a thought leader and consultant, he has helped create effective marketing strategies, leadership/team development and resourcing of services within businesses across a wide ranges of sectors.

As a Toastmaster, he believes that finding and developing your voice sets the stage to help create the change that is possible in each of us.

Bruce would love to help Area 82 take full advantage of the networking and growth opportunities available in Toastmasters. He urges his members to identify one personal speaking/leadership goal they would like him to help them attain. Area 82 will become a distinguished Area.

Area 83 – Monica Couillard, ACS, ALB

Monica Couillard is a member of Speak & Lead as well as MMC NY Toastmasters Clubs.  She joined the organization in April 2014 and became the president of her corporate club, Toast of the Meadows, a few months later.  She is a Vice President with Marsh & McLennan Companies in NYC as the North America Talent Acquisition Relationship Manager.  One of her passions for volunteerism is reflected through her dedication to the United States Coast Guard Auxiliary, which she joined in 2002, shortly after 9/11.  Through the past 15 years, some of her duties have included the post of Commander, leading a unit of 52 committed Auxiliarists, as well as an Interpreter for the Department of Homeland Security.  Monica teaches boating safety courses in the State of NJ, as an authorized instructor by the NJ State Police, and is a qualified boat crew member and vessel examiner.  One of the accomplishments in which she takes the most pride is having visited all 50 states before the age of 35, as well as 39 countries.  Monica lives in Rutherford with her husband, Eric, and their five year-old son Oliver, who are also avid travelers.

Monica will lead Area 83 to becoming a distinguished Area, through greater member recognition and club success planning.

Area 84- Alton James, ACB, ALB

Alton James is a Realtor-Associate at Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices, New Jersey Properties. He has been in the real estate business, the financial planning business and the tax preparation business for the past 26 years. Alton has a passion for helping individuals with one of the biggest investments they will ever make, their home. His niche market are new home buyers and retirees seeking to downsize in comfort.

He enjoys clarifying complicated financial situations for individuals. He has studied the complicated tax system in order to help his clients save the most. He has been a Toastmaster for 13 years and has benefited from increased confidence in public speaking.

Alton has held several club officer positions for Rutgers Sponsored Successful Speaking Club, including, VPE, VPM and Treasurer. He has accepted the new growth opportunity to lead Area 84 and will make it a distinguished Area. He wants to help his fellow Toastmasters fulfill their goals of leadership and increased public speaking confidence.
