This creates an ever-expanding circle of sharing compared to a one-time experience between two or more people.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.tm83.org\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/04\/Reciprocity.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-medium wp-image-1046\" src=\"http:\/\/www.tm83.org\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/04\/Reciprocity-300x200.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"200\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.tm83.org\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/04\/Reciprocity-300x200.jpg 300w, https:\/\/www.tm83.org\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/04\/Reciprocity-768x512.jpg 768w, https:\/\/www.tm83.org\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/04\/Reciprocity.jpg 864w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 300px) 85vw, 300px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Here are ten Toastmasters tips to help you reach milestones whether you plan to achieve a traditional or a Pathways DTM:<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>Organize a club officer training session in your division with permission from district leaders<\/li>\n<li>Serve as a trainer at club officer training<\/li>\n<li>Assist at club, area, division and district contests if you are not a contestant<\/li>\n<li>Provide advice in your area of expertise for a club member\u2019s speech; he\/she helps in a similar way for you<\/li>\n<li>If practical, carpool with fellow club members to contests, meetings, district special events or training sessions<\/li>\n<li>Serve on a guidance committee for a Toastmaster working on a traditional or Pathways High Performance Leadership (HPL) project<\/li>\n<li>If you are a speaker, offer to evaluate another speaker during a club speakout<\/li>\n<li>Help a fellow club member become confident beginning Pathways when you are both ready<\/li>\n<li>Inspire a fellow Toastmaster to take on a club or district officer role for 2019-2020 and share what you learned during your term<\/li>\n<li>Notify club members seeking speaking slots when you learn about opportunities in other clubs<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>Often, club members are eager to help; Go ahead and ask.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Blog contributed by Su Brooks, DTM 2\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 <\/strong><strong>District 83 Training Coordinator and Social Media Strategist<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Su has been a Toastmaster since July 2000 and has earned two DTM awards in the Traditional program. In Pathways, she is working on three paths: Leadership Development, Presentation Mastery, and Engaging Humor.
