I have previously served as Sergeant of Arms at Brunswick Toastmasters and as Secretary at Brunswick Advanced.
How long have you been in Toastmasters?
I started my journey in November 2014.
What are your plans for the district/area/division?
As an Area director, my plan is to work with the clubs and encourage them to participate in as many training as possible and get involved in contests either as a participant or as a duty holder.
I have made it my mission to reach and bring in more people to Toastmasters and tell them about the benefits of being a Toastmaster’s member not only to improve their communication and leadership skills but to grow as a person.
Why did you join Toastmasters?
English is not my first language and I needed to improve my communication skills and gain more confidence speaking. Toastmasters has also helped me with my listening skills and I have incorporated new words and expressions that were not there before.
This is a great place to learn and challenge oneself to be more verse in a myriad of subjects like giving a speech to organizing an agenda or even putting together a combined area contest.
What advice do you have for new members?
Toastmaster is a great Organization where you can challenge yourself and take advantage of the opportunities that this skilled communication and leadership team has to offer.
If you are really interested in advancing your personal growth and professional skills don’t look more since this is a fantastic place to start.
