D83 Introduces One Level Up Webinars

Starting next week, District 83 is going to embark on a new endeavor, which is to answer those impending questions. Sometimes you can’t find the answers to those questions easily, but, because of years of Toastmasters experience, some of our District leaders have the answers to or can at least to point in a way to solve certain types of challenges.

D83 One Level Up webinars are not going to take you from zero to sixty in six seconds flat. Our goal is to help you reach 100 percent of your goals, even if it takes a little more time than driving at maximum speed on the NJ Turnpike. Remember is not how fast you come to a solution, but how robust and permanent your solution is to your club.

The webinars will cover different topics and will be tailored to your needs. They will be a roadmap to what is happening in District 83 at any given time as well as the tasks that your club should be working on, if you have elected to follow the Toastmasters International calendar and are working on meeting the necessary points to become Distinguished, Select Distinguished, or President’s Distinguished.

During these webinars, there are going to be opportunities for those who have found solutions to step in and present how they put into action best practices that keep member’s engaged and their time at Toastmasters valuable.

Through sharing information and presenting techniques, these webinars are aimed to provide a platform for those with experience to mentor others. We will go over techniques, practices, and if applicable habits that could signal the difference between achieving four or ten points in the Distinguished Club Program (DCP).

We want to think of these sessions as Toastmasters helping Toastmasters, an online mentoring program that could translate to actual mentoring on a one-on-one basis and provide tailored coaching opportunities created by the members themselves. These sessions will enable Toastmasters to reach out to another Toastmaster, who they feel will help him or her get to the next level.

As a member-centered organization, we not only want to empower our members to advance and grow, but also want to give a voice to those who are taking the lead and making every interaction a life-changing event.

We want people to look back at their Toastmasters experiences and say: “This is where change started for me, and from this experience, I started to create the future that has brought me to my current job, practice, or ________.”

Working together and exchanging ideas about Toastmasters will help our district showcase that “Every Toastmasters journey starts with a single speech.”
